Many of our Classmates joined us in remembering
our days at Phoenix Union High School.
We continue to Fight On!

With input from Cas Cusimano, Gus Meyers, Michael Incardone, and Barry Kennedy, Karen (Deckelmeier) Chapman coordinated our reunion. We experienced wonderful tour of the old Auditorium and Administration buildings. The event was concluded at Sam's Cafe for our luncheon following the tour. The three remaining Phoenix Union High School buildings have been completely renovated and converted to various size classrooms. They are now equipment to serve the University of Arizona medical students and many physicians thorough out Arizona via telecommunication which include television diagnostics, as well as many other functions.

Harriet Zeaman and the University of Arizona medical school coordinator provided an in depth look at the new facilities. The Administration building housed the virtual electronic library. The University of Arizona medical students can now access a large variety of universities libraries at the University of Arizona and Arizona State University from their computers, wherever they access the library.

Miss Betty Fairfax was honored by the Girl Scouts of America as an honorary Girl Scout with a plaque and a special poem by Lafayette Barr.

Miss Fairfax has attended all of our yearly reunion starting with the 20th reunion. The Phoenix Union High School District has named the newest high school after Miss Betty Fairfax. She is a true meaning of a teacher and counselor, who is still working at Central High.

Karen (Deckelmeier) Chapman was honored by the class for her outstanding contribution to the 45th and the 1st Annual Class reunions. She was instrumental for the tour and luncheon. Doing most of the work from her home in Sacramento, CA. Thanks Karen for all the hard work!
